6x6 Sudoku for Kids with numbers

These 6x6 Sudoku for Kids are suitable for kids ages 6 to 10 (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades). They are designed for kids who already encounter no difficulty in completing the 4x4 Sudoku puzzles.

These puzzles are set to a general difficulty level providing kids who graduated from the 4x4 grids with new challenges. They also remain easy enough for new players who are still getting acquainted with the dynamic and working of these puzzles.

6x6 Sudoku for Kids introduces the concept of blocks and more numbers that must be placed on the grid. Regardless, the rules are the same as with any traditional Sudoku puzzle.

The kids must fill a grid with the missing numbers while ensuring each digit only occurs once per row, column, and block. Each puzzle has only one possible solution and the numbers allocated at the beginning are the clues to find it. Logic and concentration are the single requirements to solve a Sudoku puzzle. No guessing is allowed.

Basic rules of 6x6 Sudoku for Kids

The rules of 6x6 Sudoku puzzles are the same as with traditional Sudoku grids, with only the number of digits changing. Compared to the 4x4 Sudoku for Kids puzzles, the concept of blocks is introduced at this stage.

Rules:

  1. The numbers 1 to 6 must occur only once in each column.
  2. The numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 must occur only once in each row .
  3. The numbers 1 to 6 must occur only once in each block of 2x3.
  4. The clues allocated at the beginning of the puzzle cannot be changed or deleted.
  5. The grid must be filled using only logic. No guessing!

How to play the online version

  • Select a cell on the grid and use the number pad or the device’s keyboard to choose and place a number.
  • Click on the eraser symbol below the numbers pad to delete an entry.
  • Red numbers on the grid indicate a mistake. In the case of repetitions already clear on the grid, the clashing cells with also be highlighted in red.
  • The players can find the solution to a cell by selecting it and clicking on the button “Hint”. It is not possible to delete or change the number allocated by the hint.
  • To restart the puzzle or try a new one, click on the button “New Game”.
